Durham Professional Services are working with our client to build a pool of skilled and available Analytics professionals to assist with several potential projects. This role will initially be home based but if/when possible the role will be based in Sheffield. We are looking for forward- thinking, passionate, data driven professionals who are highly organised and meticulous in meeting tight deadlines. We want someone who keeps calm under pressure and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. We want someone who understands the importance of clear communication, by this we mean possessing the ability to make complex analytics simple to understand to our stakeholders.

You’ll be responsible for scoping and delivery of a range of analytics projects across a defined set of regions and lines of business. You will work with local Heads of Analytics leads to understand their project briefs, translate them into technical solutions and deliver these within agreed scope, cost, and timescales.

Key Requirements of the role

  • Working with local Heads of Analytics and regional / lines of business stakeholders to identify new analytics projects either as standalone or as part of a wider consulting or operational improvement initiative
  • Creating a detailed specification / project brief and work with our Analytics Shared Service to turn proposals into practical solutions, managing the end to end project delivery
  • Owning the project outputs and working closely with internal and external clients to present findings and ensure the analytics solutions address their needs, delivering the customer and business improvements identified
  • Coaching the team in technical, consulting, and soft skills required; from data brief through to data manipulation, data science / machine learning, storytelling, and commercial implementation
  • Creating reputable solutions and products, to drive efficient analytics
  • Working with our Global Data team to utilise our cloud analytics platform, and ensure future needs are accommodated in the development roadmap

Key Skills: -

To perform this role successfully it is expected that candidates will have experience of: -

  • Master’s degree or equivalent with strong maths, statistics, or computer science base
  • Previous experience delivering analytics in an in house or consulting setting
  • Extensive experience on SQL or related RDBMS language
  • Data visualisation, preferably in Power BI
  • Data manipulation using SQL
  • Data modelling 
  • Natural language processing is a bonus
