Durham Professional Services is looking to recruit a Business Analyst for a permanent position to work with our client in Central Glasgow. This role will be predominantly WFH, but there will be occasional travel to and from the office as required.


You will be a key member of the team with accountability for identifying and defining the business change, using a disciplined and professional approach, working across many levels, including heads of and 3rd parties. You will be responsible for business analysis activities including; process definition and requirements management for assigned projects.  The role will contribute to the development of best practice and demonstrate the value of the discipline.


The Job

  • Lead the Business Analysis and readiness activity to ensure the successful transition to future state. Collaborate with Business and Transformation Delivery teams where appropriate to effectively scope, design and implement strategic and tactical business change. Develops and designs content for training to enable smooth and effective transition within delivery of transformational change
  • Build and maintain relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders to influence and support the delivery of projects, building trust in an advisory role. Lead internal/external stakeholders and cross functional teams through the Information Technology Change process to define and deliver high quality business requirements. 


  • Conducts research using multiple data sources and selects relevant information to enable analysis of key themes and trends. Undertakes analysis of complex information, translating and representing data to enable collaborative design of effective business solutions.


  • Model the current and future states within the scope of the allocated work, including process, team or department level change. Identify and highlight the gaps that must be addressed in order to successfully transition to the future state. Activities in these phases include developing timelines, organising working sessions and creating deliverables.


  • Prepare and facilitate project/programme meetings/workshops as required; (incl. requirements elicitation, impact assessment and business process design workshops) and undertake all analysis required for the meeting/workshop inputs and outputs.



The Person

  • Highly motivated, resilience, proactive and enthusiastic individual with the ability to work independently to meet strict deadlines
  • Proven track record in business analysis role
  • Demonstrable experience of working within a large-scale programme / project management delivery framework
  • Experience of employing a broad and diverse range of business analysis best practices, methodologies and tools including complex modelling and scenario planning
  • Customer Journey and business process mapping experience critical
  • Experience working with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory B2C and Microsoft Dynamics 365 is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to challenge business and technology areas in order to achieve the optimal future design of any change initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and support senior Stakeholders through difficult decisions
