Experienced Project Manager required for an immediate start in Glasgow for an initial 6-month contract. Umbrella Only

This position sits within the Digital Transformation team, based in Glasgow, but with remote working flexibility. As part of the Digital Transformation Team, you will be involved in game changing digital development projects ranging from a new global website to defining and then implementing mobile app strategies.  Putting the customer at the heart of everything you do, and by developing upon an already innovative CX framework, you will help create best in class digital experiences for customers across an international digital estate.

 The purpose of this role is to plan, manage and control the scope of medium scale digital projects and product development initiatives with a budgetary range of between 500k to 1mil. By having excellent communication skills and having a genuine passion for digital will enable you to navigate the business effectively, inspiring and bringing stakeholders on the journey with you.

The job

Reporting to the Programme Manager, on a day-to-day basis, you’ll be responsible for the following:

  • Scoping, planning, and delivering digital projects in an agile environment within a distributed team model.
  • Leading all phases of projects to ensure on-time completion within budget.
  • Developing project/sprint plans and objectives; identify resources needed, develop reports and methods for measuring results
  • Managing and planning digital design activity in a sprint framework and planning the roadmap for feature development.  
  • Ensuring the delivery of project outputs are to the appropriate levels of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the project plan
  • Facilitate scrum ceremonies as part of the scrum framework, ensuring sprint goals are achieved and ensuring best practise principles are adhered too.
  • Remove external impediments so the team can focus on the work at hand and follow scrum practices
  • Support the business in decision making to ensure the best possible digital experience is delivered.
  • Ensuring the preparation and dissemination of relevant and timely project communications
  • Managing contributions to the project from third party suppliers as appropriate and manage and maintain strong working relationships with all project suppliers both internal and external to ensure optimum performance.

The person

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in Digital Project Management using best practice methodologies and processes.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering digital projects and the management of product backlogs
  • Management of multi-disciplinary teams and a deep understanding of digital skillsets, including but not exclusively, Creative design (UX/UI), CMS, front end development, customer research and service design
  • The ability to apply strong project management skills and methodologies as required, specifically Agile Scrum.
  • The ability to quickly understand scope and define ways of delivery  
  • The ability to always find a way to navigate a dynamic landscape and keep up to date with technological and industry advances
  • A strong track record of transformational change through the introduction of new products and services
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills: a track record of effectively managing international stakeholders who express a wide range of diverse aspirations. 
  • Strong communication skills: able to build consensus, resolve conflict, negotiate, influence and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and project teams alike.
  • Knowledge of budgetary control & resource allocation within a wider programme of works.
