Enterprise Business Architect

Durham Professional Services is delighted to be working in partnership with our multinational client based in the heart of Glasgow to recruit a Business Architect. The Enterprise Business Architect is accountable for ensuring that business and IT designs evolve in accordance with our clients target operating model.

This role is responsible for defining or altering strategic business capabilities or practices to guide the business towards a defined future state and will be accountable for the overall design of the enterprise wide business process architecture balancing the needs for operational excellence and business performance. The Enterprise Business Architect provides expertise in most aspects of business process design and execution and represents and supports EBA through Enterprise Design Authority.

The Business Architect will be responsible for: -

  • Translate strategic requirements into a usable enterprise business architecture
  • Craft a gap plan between the future-state and current-state business architectures, and develop road maps for the orderly transition to the future state
  • Manage the development and evolution of EBA
  • Leverage EBA efforts and artefacts to consult with directorate customers on defining or designing business processes, functions and organisational structures, and on identifying and promoting enabling technologies based on business requirements
  • Collaborate with business to ensure that EBA requirements, principles, models and recommendations are adhered to when migrating to the desired future state
  • Facilitate development of cross-organisational (enterprise) solutions

  • Use comprehensive knowledge and skills to act independently while guiding and training others on analysing the business requirements that IT solutions must meet
  • Ability to identify emerging technology and business models that can add business value, and to modify business practices to take full advantage of technology innovation
  • In depth understanding and experiences of business process modelling and process redesign methods, models and tools. Solid knowledge of enterprise architecture processes, methods and frameworks
