Durham Professional Services is delighted to be working on a new role for a Senior Finance Support Analyst. The candidate will ideally be commutable to either Glasgow or Liverpool when required. This role will be working in a hybrid fashion.

 

My client is offering a really challenging and interesting role to the right candidate who loves to get in and amongst it. The successful candidate will take the lead in financial tracking procesess for Client Lifecycle Management (CLM. You will be expected to be the go-to person for financial progress of the CLM programme of works against both preapproved (‘locked’) Business Case and evolving project cost forecasts (Budget Tracker).

 

Whilst this role ultimately sits within the Transformation Office team, successful delivery will ultimately depend on a strong working relationship with both the CLM Delivery Team and Finance. To emphasise the importance of this working relationship there will be dual secondary reporting lines through to the Head of CLM Delivery and the Costs Team.

 

 

The main details of the role

 

  • Lead the monthly CLM Budget Tracker process including justification of month-on-month movements (Opex and Capex)
  • Work in conjunction with CLM Programme Mangers (PM’s) to ensure continuity of reporting across CLM programmes
  • Present monthly updates of financials v CLM Business Case – overspend, underspend, incremental spend, tracking resource and contingencies
  • Ensure that there is continuity in financials presented to the various project governance forums
  • Manage business expectations in providing timely and accurate communication of divergence from a previously issued expectations
  • Ensure that there is adequate record for justification of Capital Expenditure (CapEx)
  • Ensure that Finance have the necessary info to process monthly accruals/prepayments where timing of invoices will/have cover prior/future periods

Experience in many of the following:

  • Previous  experience in a similar finance analyst role
  • Be highly motivated and a self-starter.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain strong working relationships
  • Demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail and have a methodical and organised approach to tasks
  • Have the ability to work independently and effectively under tight time constraints and deliver accurate results.
  • Be able to communicate and manage priorities effectively to meet deliverables
  • Be familiar with projects and change initiatives, having assisted in the delivery of change programmes against budget expectations

Have strong Microsoft Office skills (usual suite of MS products) and experience, coupled with the ability to learn in house systems
