Finance Consultant

Durham Professional Services are delighted to be recruiting for a Finance Professional for our International client on a contract for an initial 3 months.  This role will be remote but could have occasional travel according to project demands.

Details of the role.

• Management of the overall business case for the initiative and it’s constituent sub-Business Cases
• Management of the Funding Drawdown Process with the internal transformation office
  1. Working with all stakeholders to define agreed funding available and draw downs
  2. Maintenance of the Transformation Finance Processes and associated guidance documents
  3. Management & Execution of the Pre-Approval, Approval & subsequent Reconciliation process

• Management of the monthly Financial Process:
  1. Receipt of Actuals
  2. Update of the overall Business Case and constituent sub–Business Cases
  3. Recalculation of Forecast
  4. Update of the Financial Workbook

• Additional activities:

1. Creation and/or analysis of business cases to support the individual projects within the initiative – including costs, savings, success criteria, assumptions etc.
2. Assessment of dependencies of the business cases across multiple projects and initiatives
3. Challenge and updating of financial forecasts and establishing financial tracking processes and templates across the initiative working the transformation finance representatives
4. Aligning financial forecasts with project delivery milestones to develop a delivery roadmap
5. Capturing and reporting all investment spend and benefits realisation
6. All approaches should be aligned with practices across wider Technology Simplification workstream, and initiatives

Experience required

• Financial and/or accounting background preferred
• Experience of managing financial aspects of large programmes (circa. $10m+) – ideally tech
• Good understanding of programme and business financials  
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Basic Project Management or PMO experience
• Ability to work independently to set-up meetings, run project working group etc, with minimal oversight
• Basic MS Office skills
• Curious and challenging nature
