Durham Professional Services is delighted to be recruiting for Graduate/Trainee Solutions Engineers based on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

This customer facing role will suit someone who loves to give excellent customer service and has pride in the customer experience they can provide. You will be trained into this role, so your background is key to making this a success.
This role will suit anyone who has an IT programming Degree (or equivalent) who wants to work with internal or external customers. You should have 1-2 years post grad commercial experience but your enthusiasm and passion for customer service is what’s most important.
My client is keen to see people from all areas who have a love for all things IT. Anyone coming from a testing, analysis and programming background is also more than welcome. My client is happy to look at people from different background who are keen to transition into a career in IT. This would also suit someone returning to work after a break who is keen to retrain.
- A background in technology and an understanding of at least 2 of the following IT concepts would be wonderful:
- Networking.
- Database management & Structure.
- Software Fundamentals.
- Operating Systems (iOS, Android, Linux, Windows).
Some of the main roles you will be trained to do are:
- To work with clients delivering end to end technical integration from Pre-sales through to full deployment.
- You will be gathering and assessing functional, technical and business requirements. Working alongside the testers and sales teams to tailor proposals and work collectively to provide guidance on all software/hardware options which are available.
- Working with 3rd party suppliers to integrate the solutions into their systems, making sure the requirements meet the certification and supports the test teams.
- Support and provide training to the customers and 3rd party suppliers.
- Work well with internal colleagues, 3rd party suppliers and customers throughout the project lifecycle. Always being one step ahead of any potential pitfalls or project concerns.
