Durham Professional Services is delighted to be working exclusively with a well-known Brand based in Livingston and Edinburgh who are currently recruiting an IT Analyst Associate to join their established team for a two-year fixed term contract.

This role will suit someone who has recently graduated or has at least one years’ experience in the analytical arena.

This company is looking to bring on a passionate and driven individual who is keen to learn all the different aspects of working in an analytical area, putting into practise the theory you have learned at university or college or from your previous employer.

As an IT analyst you will be working as part of a team to enhance and support the company’s core business applications. You will learn about Business as Usual (BAU) activities, assist in the delivery of key application enhancements and work on business approved systems initiatives. This company has a high standard of internal and external customer services and this role will allow you to be the bridge between the IT function and the rest of the business.

The right candidate must have an eye for detail, understand the customers’ issues and be steadfast in resolving them. Working with likeminded individuals who are happy to share their knowledge and make you the best at what you do, which can only enhance your toolkit for your career moving forward.

A typical day:


  • Working alongside business teams and key suppliers
  • Attending workshops and participating in learning opportunities
  • Assisting relevant departments
  • Building professional relationships across the business
  • Learning about business processes and project delivery

Understanding or working knowledge of the following are also key for this role:

Technical skills:

  • Exposure to SAP ECC would be beneficial.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft, especially Excel.
  • Understanding of a Business Intelligence visualisation tool, e.g. Power BI, QlikSense.
  • Understanding of database concepts and data management.
