Main Component Exchange Supervisor

Durham Professional Services is delighted to be recruiting for a Wind Turbine Reliability Engineer to join their well know client. This role can be home based with travel to sites located in Scotland.

The Main Component Exchange Supervisor will play a key role in implementing and managing heavy lift & major component exchange projects ensuring that annual budget and objectives are met. Focus will be co-operating with the relevant site operations teams and servicing teams and the wider O&AM services. Further responsibility will be to work closely with Business Development to promote the growth of the MCE services. Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for supervising and delivery of the major component exchange engineering services
  • Promote safe working practices and standards especially the safe execution of lifting operations
  • Manage all aspects of the at site major component exchange, paying particular attention to contractors
  • Interface and work in co-ordination with the O&AM, Contractor, Client & HSEQ teams to provide long term vision of a unified and coordinated offering in Service Operations & Asset Management
  • Lead the implementation of an industry leading operational MCE services team, in accordance with the stated business plan and budget objectives
  • Lead the development and implementation of systems for the specification, diagnosis and management of asset information to ensure effective asset decision making
  • Work with the O&AM, business development and marketing teams and provide valid input to assist with pursuing market opportunities in order to maintain a market leading consultant and service provider
  • Contribution to the departmental business plan and annual budgets and ongoing monthly performance management, monitoring and reporting against actuals
  • Undertake the continual management and coaching of all direct reports, including on-going personal development reviews, development planning, succession planning and training (both technical and management)
  • Contribute to the assessment of staffing requirements for organisational service delivery
  • Assist with the integrated business development sales strategy to achieve and exceed budget 

 Qualifications and Experience


  • Recognised Slinger/Signaller & Crane Supervisor qualification, i.e. CPCS A40/A62 Blue
  • Previous heavy lift and/or major component change experience at a supervisory level
  • Experience working with WTSR v3 and have a good working knowledge and practical experience with CDM 2015
  • Strong leadership, administration, coordination and have a hands-on approach to all aspects of heavy lift project management
  • Ability to understand and work to a defined project budget
  • Strong technical competence with a practical, hands on approach to project delivery
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead, influence and motivate teams to achieve workable solutions
  • Previous experience of some or all Siemens/Nordex/Senvion platforms
  • Due to travel requirements within the role a full driving licence valid for use within the UK
