The role
As a Mobile Developer you will play a key role in guiding our client’s mobile success. You will be involved in building native mobile apps, working with a team to work effectively across the entirety of the product stack – from mobile apps to APIs to backend databases.
Whilst working in the team, you will have the autonomy to help shape the direction of the mobile app as it grows and introduce your ideas for mobile technologies. The current team is proud of being able to identify some complex issues before shipping them the same day. You will help build on this capability ensuring that our client is continually and pragmatically delivering high customer value whilst managing the complexity of the system; specifically, within iOS and Android apps.
You will be able to guide and help a high-performing team with your deep mobile knowledge acquired over your career, helping grow the skills of the team based on your experience and relishing both the level of autonomy and the level of accountability required to maximise the teams mobile delivery and learnings.
Qualifications
- To be successful in this role it is essential that you are customer and product focused, with strong decision-making skills, leveraging facts to validate your assumptions, but not being afraid to go with your instinct when necessary.
- You will be an experienced iOS or Android Mobile Developer, with a demonstrable track record of designing, building and operating mobile apps.
- Several years’ experience building native apps for iOS and/or Android. Familiarity with Swift/Kotlin is ideal but not essential if you have experience using Objective-C/Java and a willingness to learn.
- At least a basic understanding of creating mobile optimised backend APIs.
- A customer focussed approach and look to solve their needs with scalable software.
- Good level of understanding and use of agile principles and their value. You will blend what works over choosing a framework.
- Curiosity, a constant hunger to learn and push the product's quality boundaries.
- Evidence of being self-motivated and driven – you find satisfaction in a job well done and want to solve hard problems.
