Durham Professional Services is looking to recruit a Network Architect on a 3-6 months contract (umbrella only). This role will be predominantly WFH.. but candidates should if required ideally be able to be onsite in the central belt of Scotland.

 

This position will perform a combination of security design and implementation work, as well as security testing and implementation as per Business requirements. You will work in conjunction with an extended team of geographically diverse qualified Information Security Manager, Network Manager, Network Architects, and IT Technicians to assist in resolution of all security, network related issues at all sites.

You will manage all Network, Security related service requests, Projects that are raised via the helpdesk system, monitoring tool and prioritise them accordingly. Assist the IT management teams in all ways to achieve the business objectives. 

What you’ll be doing

  • As a Network Security Analyst, you will be involved in the managing of various Network Security Infrastructure solutions. This will include the build of reports and documentation on current and future Network Security landscape.
  • You will be responsible for managing network security environment (Cisco ASA, FTD, Cisco ISE, Cisco Umbrella, SD WAN etc)
  • Ensure that agreed service levels are achieved in line with Business expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Ultimate responsibility for ownership of all Network Security incidents or logged service requests
  • Track the incidents to conclusion in line with SLAs and quality standards.
  • Manage Major Incidents, Stakeholder communication, activities, and any appropriate escalations.
  • Provide information about Network security incidents analysis and KPIs
  • Provide Network Security Management and Performance reporting
  • Measure monitor and work to drive down incident levels.
  • Design, review and ongoing assessment of firewall, intrusion detection/intrusion prevention, SIEM, VPN, SSL, application control, Antivirus, and other network component policies

What you’ll need

  • Prior experience of supporting multiple network security systems in Cisco based network environment. It is essential you have strong hands on skills around Cisco ASA and FTD (Migration, Operation, Implementation and troubleshooting).
  • Experience working on Cisco Technologies (Cisco Firewalls, Cisco ISE, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco SD WAN).
  • Hands-on experience on managing Cisco Security Devices (Cisco ASA, FTD)
  • In-depth knowledge of contact centre technology and processes and how these can be improved through exploiting existing technologies and introducing new solutions.
  • Technical troubleshooting of routine hardware and software issues courteously and expeditiously
  • Clear and concise communication skills to all levels of staff.
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills. 
  • Results focused and committed to high personal standards and a desire to develop via self-study and formal training.
  • Ability to work from a ITSM Tool and work on requests based on priority and severity.
