Durham Professional Services is delighted to be working with our major client in Glasgow to recruit a Payroll Administrator to join them on a contract basis for an initial 6 months. (Umbrella only).    This role is open to candidates working from home. This role is accountable for supporting the Payroll Manager to manage a global payroll operation for colleagues across a multitude of countries. 

The Payroll Specialist will partner with a third-party payroll provider and their client account managers to ensure the monthly and bi-monthly payroll cycles are completed accurately and on time for each country.

Key Responsibilities of this role include:-

  • Manages an allocation of monthly/bi-monthly global payrolls, validating calculations are accurate and comply with global/country policies and local regulations.
  • Prepares and collates monthly/bi-monthly payroll related data changes from Workday and other sources and loads into third party payroll provider system for processing. 
  • Ensures all remittances and filings with the appropriate tax authorities and payments are completed by third party payroll provider or local teams.
  • Works in partnership with People and Finance teams, provides guidance and support on payroll related queries.
  • Supports with the preparation and collation of internal and external audit requests and ensure deadlines are met; liaises with third party payroll provider as required.
  • Supports Payroll Manager to implement payroll related policy changes, ensures changes are communicated to third party payroll provider.
  • Creates and maintains payroll related documentation including processes and procedures, checklists, and country playbooks.

 

To successfully perform this role it is expected that candidates will:-

  • Experience of international and UK payroll processing and regulations. Workday experience would be an advantage but not essential
  • Confident communicator with good presentation skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong experience of reconciliation methodology
  • Motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Structured and organised with the ability to plan and manage own workload.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of payroll related activities.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
