Durham Professional Services is delighted to be working with our major client in Glasgow to recruit a Payroll Manager to join them on a contract basis for an initial 6 months with the potential to extend.. (Umbrella only).    This role is open to candidates working from home. This role will manage a small team of Payroll Specialists and partner with a third-party payroll provider and client service delivery manager to ensure monthly and bi-monthly payroll cycles are completed accurately and on time for each country.

Key Responsibilities of this role include:-

  • Manages a team of Payroll Specialists to ensure monthly/bi-monthly global payrolls are accurate calculated and comply with global/country policies and local regulations.
  • Ensures ACCA complies with local tax laws and regulations and filings and payments are submitted to the appropriate tax authorities on time.
  • Ensures monthly/bi-monthly payroll related data changes from Workday and other sources are entered into our third-party payroll provider system for processing in line with payroll calendars.
  • Partners with People, Finance, and Global Business Services teams and provides expertise and guidance on payroll related queries
  • Leads in the preparation and collation of internal and external audit requests and ensure deadlines are met; liaises with third party payroll provider as required.
  • Implements payroll related policy changes, ensures changes are communicated to third party payroll provider.
  • Ensures payroll related documentation including processes and procedures, checklists, and country playbooks are maintained

 

To successfully perform this role it is expected that candidates will:-

  • Ability to lead a team of international and UK payroll specialists. Experience of Workday would be preferred but is not essential
  • Confident communicator with good presentation skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong experience of reconciliation methodology
  • Motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Structured and organised with the ability to plan and manage the teams and own workload.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of payroll related activities.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
