Durham Professional Services are delighted to be working in partnership with our client to recruit the post of a Platform Engineer (Linux). This post can be based in Glasgow or Dalkeith, but will be predominantly working from home during the covid pandemic.
 
The role will specifically focus on ensuring the stability, integrity and efficient operation of our Cisco UCS and our Unix / Linux systems are maintained. You will have a collaborative approach on working with stakeholders and the ability to work on multiple projects at any one time.
 
This is a highly technical role, and you must be able to demonstrate experience in the following:
• System Administration Redhat, CentOs Operating Systems
• CISCO Unified Computing System
• VMware • Storage platforms - NetApp
• Infrastructure automation / Scripting - preferably Puppet / Bash, Python
• Excellent technical documentation, coaching and knowledge transfer skills
• The creation, maintenance and adoption of relevant IT policies, processes and control frameworks
• The use of proactive monitoring tools, diagnostic and root cause analysis techniques
