Durham Professional Services is delighted to be working with our major client in Glasgow to recruit a Procurement Sourcing Lead to join them on a contract basis for an initial 6 months. (Umbrella only). This role is open to candidates working from home.
The job
Reporting to the Head of Financial Shared Services, on a day-to-day basis, you’ll be involved in the following:
- Lead the organisation through a strategic end-to-end global payroll sourcing initiative, ensuring all procurement principles are met
- Provide procurement expertise in implementing the sourcing strategy, to secure value for money and continued operational excellence
- Working with business stakeholders, lead the sourcing initiative and negotiate commercial contracts to secure value for money, manage exposure to risk, and optimise ongoing value from the contract
- Act as first point of contact to suppliers and internal stakeholders for the sourcing activities, including project governance groups
- Manage senior key stakeholder relationships to successfully deliver the desired sourcing outcome
- Coordinate with various business stakeholders to ensure procurement deliverables are achieved
The person
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, or an equivalent level of experience. CIPS desirable.
- Able to demonstrate experience of working within a senior sourcing role with a significant amount of autonomy in a large/multinational organisation
- Experience of leading strategic and business critical supplier relationships and contracts to deliver sustainable improvements
- Gravitas to build strong relationships, and the confidence to challenge Senior Management
- Able to confidently articulate and recommend informed decisions Senior Management within the organisation
- Able to think and deliver strategically with the ability to blend technical, operational, and commercial considerations to achieve best outcomes
- Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced, fast-changing, and high-pressure environment
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills to actively interrogate and present data in a meaningful format
- Strong work ethic for this role, which is positioned at a senior level
