Senior Technician

Durham Professional Services are delighted to be recruiting for a Senior IT Technician based in Sheffield. This role is for an initial 3 months and will be Umbrella only. The role will be to support the Sheffield site transition (commissioning pc’s on desks and re-imaging them if required).

Role Responsibilities

• Deploying packages to end workstations in UK (in office and at home) for EDR, Umbrella Duo MFA and VMS (these will be packaged up via WSUS or other deployment mechanism
• Transitioning UK clients from current proxy solution to a new umbrella solution (this is already in place and is copying what is currently deployed in some campaign.
• Assist the project team in implementing new systems
• Ensure processes are compliant and robust, meeting our regulatory and client commitments
• Deliver improvements in the efficiency and automation of our existing processes (where applicable)
• Remote support using a variety of communication and collaboration tools

Key Skills

• An in-depth technical understanding of IT services, with experience in problem solving technical issues
• IT certification would be extremely beneficial (i.e., MCP, MCSE, MCSA, CCNA) or equivalent experience
• Ability to support Linux or Windows based operating systems (Server and Client)
• Knowledge of networking technologies and infrastructure knowledge is desirable
• Have prior experience of supporting multiple systems and users in a large business environment
• An understanding of certification standards (e.g., ISO27001, PCI DSS, ISO9001) is advantageous
