The role
You’ll be a key member of an agile software development team, with the opportunity to work across all product developments and enabling the company to grow this UK-first product. This isn’t an average position where you might be restricted to one small piece of the company’s technology, it’s one where you’ll contribute fully to the whole development program, from design to production. You will have the autonomy to help shape the direction of the product as it grows. Our client has recently launched their new mobile app and website, so it is a fantastic time to be joining the team!
Responsibilities:
Depending on your level and experience, the job will involve the following responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and design of the suite of products.
- Contribute to the backend services and UI to help deliver a great experience for users.
- Contribute to code quality through test automation.
- Participate in agile practices.
- Contribute innovative and original ideas to technology and products.
- Work with internal teams and users to understand the features our products need then translate that into a pragmatic and effective technical solution.
- Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results within a schedule.
- Contribute to continual improvement by making suggestions to improve solutions at all levels.
The Person
You want to work on tricky problems with smart people. You’re someone who is open to new challenges, and you’re looking for a role with great opportunity, product vision, a focus on continuous improvement as well as an awesome company culture.
Depending on your level and experience, you also should meet some of the following requirements:
- Experience building and maintaining web-applications and backend APIs. Familiarity with the tech stack (C# ASP.NET MVC/Web API, Azure) is great, but not essential if you are willing to learn.
- An interest in mobile apps development. The apps are written in Swift and Kotlin (using ReactiveX) and the product team delivers functionality across apps/web/APIs.
- Good level of understanding and use of agile principles and their value. You will be happy to blend what works over choosing a particular framework.
- Curiosity, a constant hunger to learn and push the product's quality boundaries.
- Evidence of being self-motivated and driven – you find satisfaction in a job well done and want to solve tricky problems.
