Durham Professional Services is delighted to be working in exclusive partnership with our client, to recruit a Software Engineer on a permanent basis. This role will be working with a small but growing agile development team in our client’s product division, working across the full stack of modern web technologies to solve problems and build.

 

This is a very exciting new company and new position, the successful candidate will be developing Chrome extensions, GSuite Add-ons, web applications and other client-side UIs, integrating tightly with Google’s G Suite tools and the full range of APIs available using Apps Script, Angular, Node.js, Express and a wide range of Google Cloud Platform services.

 

Candidates will use your grasp of web development fundamentals and patterns, producing clean, maintainable code, and your strong communication and creative problem-solving skills will make you a key influencer in the conversations that shape the roadman, evolving tech stack, and the processes that define our work together.

 

Our client is a Google Premier Partner and winner of awards and this can be attributed to our client’s unique approach to technology consulting. They are now expanding their operations to Edinburgh and are in the process of new premises to further develop their global client portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Lead Software Engineer
  • Work within a collaborative, agile / scrum-inspired team on a range of web application development projects.
  • Facilitate innovative design and delivery of solutions to challenging technical problems through information gathering and best practices.
  • Contribute to general UI and UX solution design, delivery, and iteration.

Requirements:

  • Some commercial experience on a production web application development team, including exposure to APIs, with attention to performance.
  • Strong technical knowledge in current web development technologies including Javascript, CSS3, and HTML5.
  • Solid understanding of Angular (or other MV* frameworks) and ability to write clean, concise and maintainable code.
