Technical Architect

Durham Professional Services is looking to recruit a Technical Architect on a permanent basis. This role will have a hybrid working pattern of WFH and onsite as and when required.


Reporting to the Technology Manager – Customer Management Centres you will be a key member of the team delivering critical platforms to our contact centre agents spanning sites in Asia, Europe and Africa. Our agents use a mixture of internally developed application and off the shelf products. You will be working with colleagues from across IT, Customer Management and 3rd party partners to identify and implement innovative solutions helping improve our customer’s experience when they engage with us.


What you’ll be doing

  1. Support the Technology Manager to create and maintain technical roadmaps for assigned technology
  2. Ensure that architectures are flexible and support the business needs by maintaining an understanding of business strategies and technology capabilities
  3. Accountable for preparing and maintaining technical architecture artefacts for IT enterprise solutions, including AS-IS, TO-BE and transitional states for application, infrastructure, data, integration and security.
  4. Accountable to prepare or support with designing and documenting technical solutions for functional and non-functional requirements.
  5. Collaborating with enterprise architecture and peers to identify and agree the technical standards, frameworks, tooling and patterns for the enterprise solution adhering to industry standards and best practice.
  6. Accountable to ensure all designs have been approved or remedial actions taken from feedback from the Technical Design Authority
  7. Collaborate regularly with Service Support teams and central IT Infrastructure leads to ensure our roadmap and strategies align


What you’ll need


  1. Take ownership of Contact Centre solutions, such as IVRs, CRM’s, automation and have experience in presenting them at architecture boards.
  2. Methodical, logical and flexible in approach, you will have gained significant experience as a Technical Architect
  3. Good understanding of infrastructure and software best practices, including design principles & patterns, security and performance.
  4. Strong technical documentation skills, with demonstrable experience creating High Level Designs and bringing them through a formal Architecture Assurance process
  5. Ability to explain complex technical information to nontechnical staff e.g. business colleagues
  6. New technology awareness, evaluation and selection. Running or supporting vendor RFI and RFP process.
  7. Experience of working in a technology-based role and interfacing to a varied number of internal and external stakeholders
  8. Knowledge of analysis and development techniques e.g. SCRUM, Agile & Waterfall
