Durham Professional Services is delighted to be recruiting for a Tester based Just outside Edinburgh.
This role will suit someone with a couple of years testing experience or someone keen to get into a testing environment.
My client is open to bringing on someone who has an IT qualification who is now looking for their first step into gaining commercial experience.
The daily day to day:
- Produce work breakdown structures for testing activities for projects.
- Liaise with Stream Lead and Project Managers on testing activities.
- Automate test procedures where appropriate and as often as possible.
- Execute test specifications accurately, without deviating from prepared scripts.
- Record the results of tests in an appropriate format.
- Record any issues found during test execution.
- Communicate all faults and issues to the relevant members of the project team.
- Assist with ad-hoc testing.
- Update / amend test specifications.
- Provide input to project-related documentation.
- Occasional offsite visits for testing activity with customers or partners.
- Adhere to agreed KPI’s and maintain work quality to expected standards.
- Facilitate on-site acquirer TIP testing by ensuring that test environment is set up.
For the Tester who has some experience we are looking for:
- High level of computer literacy.
- Knowledge of communication equipment and protocols (modems, serial ports, TCP/IP).
- Experience of Linux operating system.
- Experience of Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Experience of using a software test automation tool and / or scripting language such as the Robot framework, RIDE, Selenium or Python.
- Experience with Microsoft Office packages
- Basic understanding of computer networks.
