Durham Professional Services is working with our client to recruit a DevOps Engineer on a permanent basis, for our amazing client located in Glasgow. Our client is undergoing fantastic business growth going from strength to strength.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in some exciting and high-profile projects. As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll have a key role in influencing the technical approach taken to build, deploy and maintain digital products. You’ will be helping to establish best practice around continuous integration and continuous deployment, while evangelising automation throughout the development process and infrastructure.
The successful candidate will have a passion for delivering high quality solutions and have a strong attention to detail.

You should be driven and organised with exceptional problem-solving skills, as well as being a good communicator and a creative thinker.
Ideally you will have professional and/or academic certification in Linux and Network administration however we consideration will be given to candidates without certifications but whose CV demonstrates substantial relevant commercial experience.
Key duties:
- Utilize infrastructure-as-code to deliver automated, predictable and scalable solutions, infrastructure and services
- Maintain running services through monitoring & measure service performance
- Empower development squads to build and deliver software solutions and services
- Evangelise automated, fault-tolerant and secure developments and practices
Essential skills:
- Expert Linux Administration and bash scripting
- Infrastructure-as-code via Terraform and Ansible
- HAProxy deployment and availability tuning
- Strong knowledge of containerisation - Docker and Kubernetes
- Cloud administration, deployment & monitoring – ideally in Azure
- Monitoring and alerting using tools such as Icinga
- Creation and management of CI / CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, Jenkins and GoCD
