Durham Professional Services is looking to recruit a IT Support Engineer to be based with our client on the outskirts of Edinburgh. This international client is looking for a skilled IT Support Engineer to join their team, working on challenging and fast paced projects.

The IT Support Engineer will be responsible for providing 2nd and 3rd line support for IT server infrastructure and core IT applications.
Responsibilities include development, maintenance, and availability of server and storage systems, and core IT applications across datacenters and regional offices.
- Proven track record and experience of Server/Storage administration in a Microsoft environment (essential)
The role is also responsible for providing application support to Contact Centre and Manufacturing Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation, configuration and support of Server and Storage systems (mostly windows)
-
Installation, configuration and support of core IT applications such as Anti-Virus, Backup, WSUS, mail filtering, web filtering etc.

Proactive monitoring and maintenance of Server and Storage systems

Continued development of Server and storage infrastructure
-
Provide Support to SIEM platform (LogRhythm)
-
Provide escalation point for Level 1 support Team(s)

Provide support to in-house Application specialists
-
Document processes and procedures
-
Assist the IT Team lead with other duties as assigned.

Experience required for the role:

Expert knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems, implementing and supporting Active directory , DHCP , DNS , Group policy etc (essential)

Expert knowledge of AntiVirus, backup and patching systems (essential)

Expert knowledge of supporting Dell Server and Storage platforms (essential)

Supporting Knowledge in supporting veritas NetBackup solution

Support knowledge of Veeam Back-up solution

Support knowledge of Zerto DR solution

Support knowledge of VMWare environments (essential)

Support knowledge of networking technologies (essential)

Support knowledge of Linux/Unix platforms (desirable)

Support knowledge of SIEM platform (LogRhythm)
