Durham Professional Services are delighted to be recruiting for an IT Engineer to be based in Falkirk. This is a permanent role working with an International Client..

This role will involve working with both on premise locations and cloud environments. Alongside diagnosing and resolving issues assigned from the IT Helpdesk, you’ll support your colleagues with internal issues and work on IT projects as required. You’ll also perform daily maintenance checks according to set routines and liaise with colleagues as well as external IT suppliers and clients.

We are looking for an exceptional individual comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting involved in day to day tasks. You’ll be able to show us a talent for logical thinking, problem solving and turning frustrated customers into happy customers.

Requirements

  • Prior experience of supporting multiple systems and users
  • Sound knowledge of desktop configuration, software installation and networking technologies (wired and wireless)
  • An understanding of relevant systems, software and hardware e.g. HP, Dell, Cisco, Microsoft operating systems and applications, Linux, Avaya, Citrix, IVR, VOIP
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Scripting, WSUS, WDS
  • Liaise with IT Help Desk, IT teams and customers to provide resolutions and support

IT certification such as MCP, MCSE or CCNA would be beneficial but not essential. Previous experience of working in a similar role is ideal.

This role may include out-of-hours “on-call” support and there may be occasional travel to other locations depending on business requirements.

A driving licence and access to transport is therefore beneficial.
